New Laptop Cooling Stand Website Launches; Also Debuts New Blog
Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) July 6, 2009 -
These days, technology is moving quickly and more people are finding that they can’t go anywhere without their laptops. All the while, the easy accessibility of wireless internet (Wi-Fi) has made online surfing available for anyone provided they have a communication device of some sort. One of the downsides to using a laptop, however, is how quickly the bottom will heat (and possibly burn) the users’ legs.
Several well documented reports have indicated that not only do laptops overheat and burn people, but they can also cause fires as well. For this, constant laptop users should try typing http://www.LaptopsCooler.com in the address bar.
Specializing in a multifaceted laptop cooling desk, LaptopsCooler.com is an independently run web store operated by Miles and Krista Cornell.
“These are crucial for people who are always on the go,” said Miles.
“How often have you used a laptop and found yourself taking it off your lap moments later because it’s too hot?” asked Krista. “I know several people to whom it’s happened to.”
The Cornells – who launched the website in May 2009 – carry a line of potable laptop cooling stands that can be used anywhere, from park benches to airport seats.
Though the couple has a specific focus, they also plan on expanding their current product line.
“We’re going to concentrate on laptop coolers, though not all of them will be stands. We are going to expand, though,” said Miles.
Along with providing top notch products, LaptopsCooler.com has its own blog, which has just debuted.
“We’re going to write at length about the different aspects of the laptop,” Krista said of http://www.Everything-Laptop.com. “For example, we’ve recently done a post about preventing laptop theft at the airport. We’re really trying to provide as much helpful information as possible and not just about cooling.”
As the website begins to grow and more people find how crucial a laptop cooler stand is to personal health, LaptopsCooler.com will no doubt become one of the most bookmarked e-stores on the internet.

CaseCruzer — New Pelican Laptop Case Provides Protection against Internal and External Threats
Montclair, CA (PRWEB) September 2, 2008
In a national emergency, a 6-Pack Dell Latitude laptop case by CaseCruzer can make the difference in securing emergency communications. As dozens of federal agencies scurry to interface with other government organizations, it is not unusual to rely on a fleet of more than 30,000 semi-rugged Dell Latitude laptops to establish communication networks. In a hazardous environment where failure is not an option, a CaseCruzer laptop case is always the best defense.
Reinforce homeland security with the durable CaseCruzer 6-Pack Dell Latitude laptop case. Its superior mobility means it can lock ‘n’ roll under any circumstance with any federal agency, including FEMA, the Department of Defense and U.S. Secret Service – the protectors of our borders, airports, and leadership.
The Dell Latitude Pelican case is also a major player in overseas defense strategies. In particular, the U.S. Army’s Medical Communication for Combat Casualty Care (MC4) must sustain a health information system in dusty, smoke-infested terrains. With an estimated 14,000 semi-rugged laptops playing a significant role in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, anything less than a topflight, heavy-duty protective carrying case is a national security threat.
The Dell Latitude laptop case can accommodate six Dell 14.1″ and 15″ display laptops. It also includes compartments for accessories. Please note: this protective carrying case is only available as a 5-Pack for the following Dell Latitude models: 100L, 120L, C800, C810, C840 or D840.
Since portability and speed are mandatory, the Dell laptop case is equipped with comfortable rubber over-molded top and side handles, an extendable handle, exterior mounted urethane wheels, and easy-to-open latches make it a snap to access laptops.
The custom-fit interior simplifies two critical phases of emergency response. Deployment: cases with custom fit interiors speed mobilization because personnel can quickly take inventory of required equipment. Demobilization: easy to account for return of all issued equipment, which can quickly be repackaged for shipment to the next mission. Missing gear is identified in seconds, due to the signature shape of empty interior cutouts.
Warning: theft of classified laptops – from offices, airports, automobiles and hotel rooms – has increased as federal agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), rely more heavily on portable hardware. The Dell laptop case has an answer: reinforced stainless steel padlock protectors.
The open cell core with solid wall design makes the Dell Latitude laptop case rugged but light, ideal for emergency management. The sturdy outer dimensions are 24.81″ L x 19.38″ W x 13.88″ H. When empty, the case weighs 26 lbs.
The Dell Latitude case responds to natural and man-made disasters armed with the renowned Pelican case characteristics. It is suitable for land, sea or air missions: military approved spec-4150J and STANAG 4280; airline safe ATA 300; IP67 certifications; watertight; and has an unconditional lifetime warranty.
Reliability is Pelican’s badge of honor. But protectors of our national interests salute CaseCruzer for its hardcore defense against impossible odds.
CaseCruzer provides shipping & carrying case solutions for applications such as Communications, Photography, Computers, Electronics, Weapons, Medical and Transportation. For more info about the new Pelican case, visit http://www.casecruzer.com; call 800-882-4730 in the U.S. or 909-613-1999 internationally; fax 909-465-5598; or write to CaseCruzer at 4665 State Street, Montclair, CA 91763.

Personal Security and Identity Theft Expert Says GPS Tracking Will Curb the Rate of Laptop Computer Loss and Theft

Personal Security and Identity Theft Expert Says GPS Tracking Will Curb the Rate of Laptop Computer Loss and Theft
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 25, 2006
News of the widespread loss of Commerce Department laptops since 2001—many assigned to the Census Bureau—has provided possible hints to explain the boom in identity theft seen these past few years, according to an authority in the field. Robert Siciliano, a personal security and identity theft expert, said the Commerce Department’s revelation of more than a thousand laptops lost, together with previously publicized research and the theft of laptops from other firms, illustrated the need for companies to turn to solutions such as GPS tracking to curb the rate of laptops being irretrievably stolen or lost.
“When you lose more than a thousand laptops—many of them containing Census Bureau data—less-than-scrupulous individuals are bound to find the information useful,” said Siciliano, who provides consumer education solutions to Fortune 500 companies and their clients. “With Census Bureau data in hand, the identity thief’s puzzle is a particularly easy one to complete.”
The Privacy Learning Institute recently featured Siciliano on its Web site. This year, he has discussed identity theft on CNBC’s “On the Money” multiple times, on NBC’s “Today Show,” and on FOX News. President of IDTheftSecurity.com, Siciliano is also author of “The Safety Minute: 01.”
Siciliano advised organizations that use laptop computers to consider solutions from companies such as MyLaptopGPS (http://www.MyLaptopGPS.com), whose product of the same name not only tracks any stolen laptop worldwide via the Internet, but also silently removes important files once the machine is stolen—returning them to the rightful user while placing them out of the criminal’s reach.
As reported by the Associated Press, officials at the Commerce Department have released figures showing the loss of more than 1,100 laptops since the year 2001. More than half, according to reports, had been assigned to the Census Bureau. According to Siciliano, the news was no surprise:
In May, the theft of a laptop from the Veterans Affairs Department jeopardized millions of U.S. veterans’ identities. A few months later, another laptop theft there put the personal information of additional veterans at risk.
In June, Hotels.com reported the loss of a company laptop containing the financial records of about 243,000 customers.
Also in June, Equifax Inc., one of the three major credit reporting companies, suffered the theft of a laptop computer containing identifying information on the company’s 2,500 U.S. employees.
Research released in August by the Ponemon Institute LLC found that the frequency of laptop theft in the workplace is, in fact, high. Furthermore, findings from an October 2005 report by CREDANT Technologies indicated that as many as 90 percent of missing company laptops house sensitive data, with a large percentage of these being noncompliant with California SB 1386’s encryption data requirements.
“Laptop security needs a revamp,” said Siciliano. “These machines are, apparently, difficult for organizations to track and keep. GPS and other technologies would go a long way in curbing the rate of laptop loss and theft.”
Identity theft affects us all, which is why Robert Siciliano, president of IDTheftSecurity.com, makes it his mission to provide consumer education solutions on identity theft to Fortune 500 companies and their clients. A leader of personal safety and security seminars nationwide, Siciliano has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, “The Suze Orman Show,” “ABC News with Sam Donaldson,” “The Montel Williams Show,” “Maury Povich,” “Sally Jesse Raphael,” and “The Howard Stern Show.”

LAPTOP Goes Undercover to Find Out Which Notebook Vendors Succeed—And Which Fail–in Customer Support
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 18, 2006
When something goes wrong, who delivers the best service? Whether it is insufferably long hold times, by-the-script technicians, language barriers, or transfers between untrained reps, the inability to find a quick fix can add to your frustration. LAPTOP went undercover to assess just how good or bad the tech support of the major laptop vendors is, and to see how well and swiftly each was able to solve our problems.
We tested the phone and online tech support of each of the following laptop vendors: Acer, Apple, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba (in alphabetical order). We then graded each vendor based upon the availability of information and the ease with which it was located. Phone grades were based upon wait times, the quality of service, and a positive resolution of the problem. Of the nine vendors tested, two received the LAPTOP Editors’ Choice Award for excellence in tech support.
To learn more about LAPTOP’s tech support showdown and to see how each notebook manufacturer fared, please visit http://laptopmag.com/Features/Tech-Support-Showdown.htm.

New USB Port Replicators Missing Link in Notebook and Laptop Evolution

New USB Port Replicators Missing Link in Notebook and Laptop Evolution
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) May 17, 2005
Mobile business users who go on frequent business trips with their notebook or laptop computer know when they return to the office they will face the headache of connecting and reconnecting their system to exchange information and take advantage of existing desktop computer peripherals.
Unfortunately, various products designed to address this problem have never been fully satisfactory. A docking station is proprietary and works with only one specific laptop model. Most USB port replicators are non-proprietary, but don’t function with a Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector Â? the connector between the PC and desktop monitor.
Fortunately, a vital missing link in notebook evolution has been developed Â? the UniXpress USB Port Replicator from Addlogix of Irvine, Calif.
Â?UniXpress bridges the worlds of VGA, USB and non-USB computer peripherals to the notebook with one single USB cable,Â? says Matthew Chang, Addlogix Marketing Manager. Â?For the first time, users can achieve 1280 x 1024 resolution via a USB connection from their laptop to a monitor or even use a third screen without adding a video card.Â?
The UniXpress USB Port Replicator works on any Windows-based notebook or PC. Mobile users connect the VGA display, Ethernet, speakers, USB printers and other peripherals to UniXpress. All interface with the computer via one single USB cable.
UniXpress has several unique features including adding a second monitor without installing video graphics cards. For instance, you can have Word running on the laptop screen and an Excel spreadsheet on an external monitor simultaneously.
UniXpress is the only port replicators that supports video resolution of 1280 x 1024. Its patent pending graphics engine provides jitter-free DVD playback. The VGA port provides three modes of video support:
1) Duplication mode (same image appears on notebook and second monitor)
2) Extended mode (different images on each screen)
3) Primary mode (acts as the only display). Primary mode allows you to use a desktop monitor in place of a laptop screen.

MEZZI Aluminum Laptop Cases Appear in ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’
(Vocus/PRWEB) February 16, 2011
MEZZI, a renowned briefcase manufacturer, recently donated several aluminum laptop cases that appeared in the January 30 episode of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The 17” MEZZI Royal Collection laptop cases were centerpieces in a girl’s room whose dream is to become an FBI/SWAT team member after she finishes school.
“MEZZI was fortunate to be part of ABC’s philanthropic reality show,” explains MEZZI President David Mezzi. “It is amazing to watch a community come together to build an entirely new home for a deserving family in only seven days. And though we could not be there in person, swinging our own hammers, we felt connected to this community, and this family, through our small contribution.”
The aluminum laptop cases used in the show were for a girl’s bedroom (Tiffany’s). It is Tiffany’s dream to finish school and pursue becoming a member of an FBI/SWAT team, so the “Extreme Makeover” design team set out to construct a “tough/glam” room for her. Several 17” MEZZI Royal Collection laptop cases were lined along a bench in the room, only to be opened by one of the show’s hosts, Paige, to reveal representations of Tiffany’s high school diploma and a police badge.
The particular aluminum laptop cases donated to the show are one of MEZZI’s most popular. The molded silver 17” laptop case is part of MEZZI’s Royal Collection, which also includes 13”, 15” and netbook sizes. The MEZZI Royal Collection features a stunning purple velvet lining, folder dividers, an accessory pouch for a phone or iPod and customizable foam inserts that can be adjusted to perfectly match the laptop it stores. The cases are secured by dual-key latch locks and can be carried by a comfortable, detachable shoulder strap.
MEZZI briefcases and laptop carrying cases have been no stranger to television or blockbuster films. MEZZI cases have appeared in a long list of movies, television shows and music videos, including NBC’s “Deal or No Deal” and “Chuck”. The company’s aluminum cases have also been featured on FOX’s “Human Target” and in the feature films, 13 and Mission: Impossible III.
With these continuing media appearances, MEZZI cases are earning a reputation in the entertainment industry for their high quality and the strength to withstand the rigors of shooting action films and television shows.
For more information about MEZZI or to see its full line of affordable, high-quality cases, visit http://www.MEZZI.com/ Or check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
About MEZZI
MEZZI has been manufacturing and retailing fashionable, affordable aluminum cases for more than 15 years. In that time, MEZZI has grown its business from only a couple briefcases to a full line of cases suitable for a variety of uses. Its cases are often sought by celebrities for movies, television shows, music videos and gifts.

NoteFix: Many Laptop Repairs Actually Software Configuration Problems

NoteFix: Many Laptop Repairs Actually Software Configuration Problems
Bedford, MA (PRWEB) February 1, 2005
NoteFix (http://www.notefix.com), a division of Pre-Owned Electronics and a national leader in laptop repair, reports that 1 of 5 reported notebook computer problems is related to software configuration. This report is based on analysis of over 20,000 laptops that NoteFix has repaired.
Configuration parameters are defined by users based on a number of preferences. These preferences include the laptop’s Internet connection method, printer options, schedule for software updates, as well as the definition of hardware ports to external hard drives, modems, and other devices. These settings are often set once and forgotten, only to later become corrupted files that manifest themselves as hardware problems.
These issues can often be remedied at home, alleviating the need for sending a laptop in for repair. Sometimes, however, a seasoned technician is required to differentiate a hardware problem from a software or configuration problem. For those users who need technical repairs, NoteFix offers an innovative, Internet-based high-speed laptop computer repair service. The company’s flat-rate pricing model ensures most repairs will be completed for less than $ 350 with a turnaround time under 48 hours.
It is also important to ensure that the configuration settings are re-set upon the receipt of a repaired laptop. In some instances the environment for repairing a laptop may be slightly different than the user’s environment, and the differences may initially seem like an incomplete repair. Resetting preferences, especially related to Internet connections, will usually resolve this.
For more information on how to configure your laptop to your preference, as well as other precautionary measures, please visit the Resources section of the NoteFix website, at http://www.notefix.com.

New XTend External Laptop Battery is a Thoughtful Gift for Business Travelers
Mar 24th
New XTend External Laptop Battery is a Thoughtful Gift for Business Travelers
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) November 25, 2009
An external laptop battery is a wonderful Christmas Holiday gift idea for the business traveler who needs to extend their laptop computer run time.
“Business travelers especially need more run time out of their laptop computer than their internal battery will provide”, explained Fred DuBois, President, LaptopBatteryExpress.com. “Our Universal external laptop battery makes a practical yet unique gift idea for those hard-to-buy-for people who have everything.”
Long lasting universal laptop batteries that work with a wide variety of laptop brands have been available for several years but they were never very small or portable. The XTend external laptop battery recently introduced from Laptop Battery Express offers long run times for laptops in a small package.
The normal run time for a notebook computer is roughly 2 hours. The universal laptop battery adds another 3-4 hours of run time after the internal battery runs out of power.
External laptop batteries are typically compatible with most laptop models. “They will work with just about any notebook computer,” says Mr. DuBois. “We offer the XTend brand universal laptop battery that ships complete with an assortment of different power adapter tips that fit nearly every laptop model except the Apple line.”
The XTend universal laptop battery is about the size of a steno pad, 8.5 inches long by 5 inches wide. Designed for easy traveling and handling, it is about 1/2 inch thick and weighs just under 1.5 lbs. The metallic aluminum case is attractive with its neon blue charging lights. A one-year manufacturer warranty is standard. The XTend battery pack is conveniently charged using the same AC wall charger that the laptop computer uses.
The XTend universal laptop battery is especially popular with business travelers who wish to maximize their time on airline flights. According to Mr. DuBois, the external battery has three key advantages over the internal laptop computer’s internal battery. First, the XTend external notebook battery lasts 3-4 hours compared to 2 hours for a typical laptop battery.
Second, the USB port on the XTend universal notebook battery pack allows the added versatility of being able to charge iPods and cell phones with the use of USB charger cables. This is a life saver when you don’t have time to recharge the phone or forgot to pack your cell phone charger.
Third, the compact and slim profile offers an advantage over a bulky, second internal laptop battery in carry-on luggage.
In addition to business users, the XTend laptop battery charger has found a popular following with students, trade show presenters, and sales professionals who use laptop computers to supplement customer presentations.
A universal external laptop battery makes a solid Christmas Holiday gift idea for business associates and students. LaptopBatteryExpress.com is offering a Christmas discount coupon valid through December 31, 2009. The coupon code is 912 which can be entered at checkout. It is worth $ 20 off the web site price of $ 139.90. Ground shipping is free.
For more corporate business traveler Christmas gift ideas, visit LaptopBatteryExpress.com http://bit.ly/LaptopBatteryExpressGifts.
